Inspirational Speaking Enters Education
The people of Japan explain this popularity by stating that listing to the way Obama speaks is a great way to improve anyone's English speaking skills. They state that he is very easy to understand and speaks pretty slowly, so it is easier to follow what he is saying. It is easier than learning from entertainment shows, as actors tend to either mumble or talk too fast, so it is difficult to learn.
Obama's speeches are also made up of a wide range of vocabulary, incorporating words from all over the English language scale of difficulty. This means some of the things he speaks about can be understood by even non-native speakers'. Of course, if an event requires a local speaker to speak in a native language, this has obvious cultural and lingual benefits.
The effect of listening to Obama's speeches is said to have a similar effect on the listener as listening to music, as he is calming to listen to. This is a prime example of inspirational speakers delivering more than what they orignially set out to do. Motivational speakers can do more than just inspire people to do their job. Speak to the London Speaker Bureau for information on the perfect speaker for your next event.

The Future of the Water Industry (for Global Water Intelligence) - Ian Goldin developed a presentation to suit the industry's audience, impressing everyone at the event. Even though he was speaking to an audience made up of industry professionals, he was able to speak to them without showing any sign of lack of industry knowledge. He has researched the topic fully, and because he was not from this particular industry, he was able to apply an objective view than anyone in the audience, exceeding their expectations by far.
The Middle East (for BIR) - Rami Khouri attended a General Assembly, speaking about his own analysis of the Middle East situation from his own experience. All the audience members were impressed with how much he knew and how well he conveyed his knowledge.
Action, Strategy and Change (for Richmond Events) - Sir Gerry Robinson delivered a speech for Richmond Events, having previously been a CEO and currently presenting "Gerry Robinson's Car Crash", a television series in which he researches the car industry in Britain.

How to Become a Motivational Speaker
Secondly, master the art of public speaking, as you'll be doing a lot of it. At first it may seem nerve-racking, but after a good few presentations your confidence will start to build. Often the only thing holding people back with public speaking is low self-confidence - always remember your audience generally want you to succeed - they won't notice every little mistake you make. The key to success in presentations is preparation - the confidence should follow.
And finally, offer to speak for free at as many events as possible. This will gain you credability as well as many contacts (hopefully). Good luck to anyone trying to become a motivational speaker!

With Yunus' help, many people have lifted themselves out of poverty with the help of these small loans, and Yunus' method has become a global phenomenon.
Yunus and the bank were jointly awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 2006. And in August, Yunus was invited to the White House along with 15 others and awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom, which is the nation's highest civilian honor.

The Role of a Motivational Speaker
Motivational speakers can provide inspiration for both their audience and other speakers. Motivation is not limited by the audience. Motivation can lift anyone who is depressed or needs a boost. Motivation leads people back into their normal lives, making them happier and more successful.
It is this power that motivational speakers hold which can be so beneficial to staff or employees. If people are motivated, they generally work better, are happier and are more likely to achieve good results. Having understanding and motivation is the ingredients for success.

Making the most of a motivational event
- Make sure the speaker understands why you have hired them - the better they understand their audience (your staff!), the more successful their presentation will be for all parties
- Record the presentation - this allows you to use the same event for training purposes in the future. This also means people in the organisation who did not have a chance to attend the speaking event can also view the presentation.
- Find out if the motivational speaker has a book or any other materials to offer your staff further training and coaching

The many uses of a motivational speaker
- Ask a motivational speaker to record a motivational video for your staff - make sure the speaker knows how this type of technology works
- Hire a motivational speaker to write newsletters or bulletins for your staff - this could include regular articles or small training sessions
- Use a motivational speaker for conference calls - training over the telephone would cut the overall cost
All these types of activities and more can be arranged through the London Speaker Bureau.

Impressed with the Gerry Robinson's common touch
The empathy that Gerry has shown to people - some very trying people - shows that a compassionate view of others and their stresses and strains, is part of business because business is part of life. Its a though - Gerry is laying down foundations for a new generation of business people, who need to be pragmatic, need to restore the sense of business but are in touch with the values that embody what their customers want. We recently had some great feedback for Sir Gerry Robinson - which is really a further endorsement of what apparent from the TV shows. Enjoy the re-runs and if your in business - listen to the reruns. 'Its' always as plain as the nose on your face!

Karan Bilimoria - Balancing Successors
Karan Bilimoria, the founder of Cobra Beer, has found a happy balance when bringing in a successor. He stood back from the business and let McKeon, the successor, get on with the business operations. However, he was always available for advice and spent time once a week organising any business issues or problems with McKeon.
It's not the first time Karan Bilimoria has handed over part of the business. Throughout Cobra Beer;s lifetime, he has had a variety of financial and accounts managers take over his work, including Arthur Young (now Ernst and Young) and Dynshaw Italia (of ebookers.com). Both were very successful in their roles.
Bilimoria started the recruiment process for his next successor early, so as to hopefully repeat the impressive impact from the former two. Cobra reached a size that would attract both top candidates and enable the company to afford new employees. The company then worked with leading headhunters across the country, ending with Bilimoria personally interviewing twenty hopefuls, finally deciding on McKeon; his excellent presentation skills persuading Bilimoria that he should be his successor.

Motivational speakers help students
How old do you have to be to speak with conviction? Would your child be able to visit children in Grade 5 at Ecole Viscount Alexander to guide them on a mission to find their passions that will lead them to success, happiness and fulfillment. There is a motivational speaker will be 10 year old Samantha Wilson.
It is a pilot test to be performed in this school as part of The Passion Test, a book co-authored by Janet Bray Attwood.
Samantha Wilson will talk for 45 minutes and encourage the children to take part in several motivational tasks such as identifying their number one passion and drawing pictures of things they like; the type of tasks carried out by adult motivational speakers!
Gerry Robinson - No nonsense approach
Sir Gerry's history can be seen in Wikipedia, but this does not detail his real skill, which is managing people and his soft skills such as being able to emphatise with others and the situations and stresses they face in day to day situation. Its this ability and understanding that allows him to get the best out of others. You'll see that in his programmes he levels the playing field with the autocrats http://www.open2.net/nhs/ and enables the people who see teh solutions to get a voice and for that voice to be heard. This is motivation is the value he gives and empowers people with.
Leadership Through Motivational Speakers
However, while these strategies may work for most people, some individuals may have other, specific motivators, such as money, promotions, holidays or team-building exercises. It is therefore important that individual interests are identified and taken into account in order to successfully motivate every member of the team.
It is important to recognise that a motivational leader is only the beginning. In the long run, people must learn to motivate themselves. In order to get the best results, consult experts such as The London Speaker Bureau, to find suitable motivational speakers for your company.

At The London Speaker Bureau, we have created a new weblog that specialises in motivational speaker news, entertainment, advice and information about individual speakers. We already have a variety of articles, but we'd love some more readers! Get it right the first time.
