Will Hutton recently calculated that under a low-spending Tory government, nearly half a million more people would have lost their jobs.
The government also state sthat the labour market is beginning to recover more quickly than previous recessions (comparing this mostly to the recssion of the 1990s).
Confusing statistics are being published as the government seems to contradict itself: stating firstly that "Jobless rate soars to 2.5 milltion" and yet new figures show "unemployment has fallen by 7,000 to 2.46 million". However, this time last year many economists were predicting unemployment would be up to 3 million by 2010, so at least some of the government's motivations have had an effect.
Hire an experienced economist such as Will Hutton to teach your employees the dangers and savours of the past recession.

Thinking of hiring a motivational speaker?
Are you thinking of hiring a motivational speaker? Have you considered what type of motivational speaker you want? Make sure you choose someone who suits your business. Preferably they should know how your business works from experience of working in a similar type of atmosphere, similar industry or similar roles as your employees.
By having some common ground with the audience, the motivational speaker is already going to be more successful at motivating your staff. They will relate better to his experiences and stories, and therefore will respond positively.
In order to assess which motivational speaker is right for your business, please feel free to contact the London Speaker Bureau, as matching speakers to the right businesses is what wthey do best.

Will Hutton For Cadbury
Will Hutton is against the foreign take over of Cadbury, as he believes the UK must protect their chocolate industry as the French have protected their yogurt industry.
As an economics speaker, he has the knowledge and experience to advise on business issues such as this, and he is not alone in the fight for Cadbury to remain British: Antony Worrall Thompson, Lynne Jones and Peter Mandelson are also against it.
Hear Will Hutton speak on economic and business issues such as this by hiring him as your speaker and adviser.

Muhammad Yunus on speaking
Muhammad Yunus believes we should all speak less - but work more. This is in response to his successful microfinancing system as he pushes it forward to make a positive impact on even more lives.
He said, "We have to work for reducing child and maternal mortality in the country." He does this by providing the mothers with lives which they can be proud of: caring and providing for her children.

Hamish McRae on the Recession
Consumption is rising, as Hamish McRae points out, as he is monitoring the state of the recession all the time, as an economic speaker. As the VAT increases in the new year, everyone starts to buy before the end of the year.
Hamish states that it is nevertheless encouraging to see that sales are increasing as the past year has been so bad. The government will need to support this spending in order to offset the decline that will take place in their spending - public spending to increase to cover private spending.
Ultimately, McRae decides that consumption will be up in the new year. Hear more from our economics speaker.

New Year Resolutions
Motivational speakers are great at motivating you for random jobs and tasks during the year, but what about new year resolutions?
Well, there's one piece of motivational speaker advice that is particularly helpful this time of year: making to do lists - writing things down.
Something happens when we write things down. We are telling ourselves that this must get done in our minds, but also on paper and therefore admitting to the whole world, as anyone can read it, what you need to do. This openness and honesty to admit that you must, for example, lose weight or quit smoking, provides the motivation required to complete the resolution.
So this year - try writing your resolutions down - in big writing on a large piece of paper for everyone to see. See if you get things done quicker!

Happiness and Motivation
All you need to feel motivated is a little bit of happiness. The Americans are good at this, as they are generally optimistic about every day life. This provides them with motivation towards the things they do.
Of course, everyone has the right to be happy. And so, we should all strive to be more positive every day - about the little things and the big things. Researchers have proved that being happy about things can improve your quality of life, improve your job, improve your relationships - there are endless positives!
But it is of course important to stay grounded to reality. Life is not happy - but it is what you make it. The motivational speakers at the London Speaker Bureau can train your mind into a positive way of thinking, while still keeping it real.
