A motivational speakers job is obviously to be motivational, but there are those who fit great comedy and story telling into their routine. These are often the most successful - no let likes to be told what to do, so the audience is unlikely to take advice from directly being told to be motivated. It the speaker can evoke emotions in the audience however, they stand a better chance at influencing them overall.
This is the theory that a cast of speakers used in the Richmond Coliseum to lead an all-day Get Motivated business seminar. The seminar included lessons in leadership and business growth.
Author and religious broadcaster Robert Schuller told people to cut the word "impossible" out of their lives. "The real sin is not trying."
The audience were offered a money back guarantee - none of which were used as the entire audience were enthralled with all the motivational speakers.
